As part of our aim to bring first class live entertainment to the village we have today made a bid to the Nottinghamshire Village Ventures Scheme. Despite fierce competition, we expect to receive approval for one of our choices to be performed in the Village Hall during either October 2014 or March 2015. We have cast our net fairly wide through music, comedy and drama, the acts we have bid for are:
a. Tom McConville & The Transpennine Sessions, ‘ a Valentines Night 2015 concert featuring an international quartet of folk musicians presenting fiddle music and songs ranging from US Bluegrass to Celtic ballads.
b. ‘Watching the Living’ , a dark re-telling of 2 x Daphne du Maurier short-stories on Sat 24 Oct 2014, just right for Halloween.
c. ‘Old Herbaceous’, a humorous look at English Social History ” Downton Abbey with Gardening Tips”, Sat 21 March 15
d. ‘Something Fishy’, a dotty, hilarious tale of goldfish, family life and the unexpected that has enjoyed a sell-out run at the 2013 Edinburgh Fringe. Sat 7 March 15
