The museum looks at rural life through the eyes of a village shopkeeper and every year has a different theme for its shop window displays. This year the theme is ‘Travel’, told through unsold shop stock and advertising material. As always the display is quirky, fun and colourful with lots of opportunities to think about how Flintham villagers used to live and to compare their modest adventures with today’s fast-moving lifestyle.
The museum is open on Sunday afternoons from 2 pm. However, on Sunday 30 April, the museum is part of Radio Nottingham’s Big Day Out and will be open from 11 am until 4 pm. Home made cakes and hot drinks will be available in and around the site throughout the day.
